Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TechSpy ("Service"), operated by TechSpy ("we", "us"). By using TechSpy you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
TechSpy is a technology intelligence platform that crawls publicly accessible websites and provides data about the technology stacks they use. The Service allows users to search, filter, and export this data for legitimate business purposes including sales prospecting, market research, and competitive analysis.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate registration information.
One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free (Scout) account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits is prohibited and will result in account termination.
3. Acceptable Use
You may use TechSpy data for lawful business purposes. You may not:
- Use the data for spam, unsolicited mass messaging, or harassment
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute TechSpy data as a standalone data product
- Use automated means to scrape or bulk-download data beyond your plan's export limits
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or bypass the Service's access controls
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law, including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, or CASL
- Access the API without a valid paid plan that includes API access
Contact data (emails, LinkedIn URLs) extracted from websites is provided for legitimate B2B outreach only. You are solely responsible for complying with applicable email and privacy laws when using contact data.
4. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation
Free (Scout) plan: Available at no cost. Includes 25 preview results per search and 1 technology filter. No credit card required.
Paid plans (Solo, Team, Growth): Billed monthly or annually via LemonSqueezy. Subscription begins immediately upon payment. All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months, except where required by applicable law.
Plan limits: Export limits (sites per month) reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Unused capacity does not roll over.
Price changes: We will notify you at least 30 days before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
5. Data and Intellectual Property
TechSpy data is derived from publicly available sources. We do not claim ownership of the underlying website content. However, our database, detection methodology, and the Service itself are proprietary.
Exports you download are licensed for your internal business use. You may not redistribute or resell TechSpy data or use it to create a competing technology intelligence service.
6. Crawling and Third-Party Websites
TechSpy crawls publicly accessible websites using standard HTTP requests. We respect robots.txt files and provide a public disclosure page at /bot. Website owners may request removal of their site from our index by contacting privacy@techspy.pro.
7. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of technology detection data. Detected technologies reflect what was visible during our most recent crawl and may not reflect the current state of a website.
Contact data is extracted from public web pages. We do not verify email addresses or guarantee deliverability. You are responsible for validating contact data before use.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TECHSPY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. You may terminate your account at any time from the account settings page.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and, where applicable, the jurisdiction in which we are established. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first; if unresolved, through competent courts.
